Tuesdays are for Top 5s! top 5 - scarves It’s getting colder and colder where I live and I’m able to wear my favorite type of accessory every day: a scarf! So I thought it would be fun to show you my favorite scarves this week. floral scarf This circle scarf isn’t really keeping you warm, but it adds a nice pop of floral to any outfit – you can combine it with most other colours. I bought it at C&A and wear it a lot.. you can see it in my outfits here and here. white scarf Also bought at C&A, this might be the warmest scarf that I own. The off-white colour fits into most of my outfits. It’s also a circle scarf, which I l-o-v-e. grey, lacy scarf I obviously buy most of my scarves at C&A, this one is no exception. They’re inexpensive and well made. This one is grey and has lace in it – both plusses in my book. grey knitted scarf Yay, finally a scarf from a different retailer.. this one is from Primark. It’s also grey and really warm.. that’s because it’s a knitted circle scarf that you can only wear in one loop. black scarf This last one is also from Primark. It’s really long, I like to wear one loop closer to my neck and one very loose. Black scarves go with everything! You can see me wearing it in this outfit. P.S.: I think it’s a great look to wear a neutral-toned scarf with bold lipstick. P.P.S.: I created a twitter account for my blog. You can follow me here if you want to ♥

Top 5 ways to relax and de-stress

In uncategorized

Tuesdays are for Top 5s! This week’s Top 5 is inspired by this post by the lovely Kaelah Bee. I can totally relate to the feeling of being overwhelmed by your to-do-lists and life in general – I really worry way too much. So this is all about my favorite ways to de-stress and feel better. top 5 - relax Who doesn’t love to sleep? It’s obviously the best thing to do to relax. It makes a whole lot of a difference to go to bed just a little earlier than usual, plus it makes you so much more productive on the next day. I actually love to go to sleep early and get up a little earlier than usual. I can really use this time to learn some more, or just lay in bed and think with a fresh mindset, without getting distracted. Yes, I believe in soup. It’s so calming to eat really hot soup, especially if you really concentrate on it and don’t try to do something else while eating. It also makes you a little tired, which is great for tip #1. Drinking tea is also relaxing… but soup is even better! When I’m feeling stressed, it usually really hits me when I’m at home. I see the piles of things I should clean or the many papers on my desk that I should read… It’s so good to step outside and leave these things behind for a little while. It’s even better to breathe in the fresh air and see all the beautiful things nature has to offer. Such a great reminder that there’s something bigger than my problems. Sometimes I can’t really concentrate on the task that I should be doing because I’m thinking about all the other tasks that I need to do afterwards, that I’ll never manage to do all of them and that I basically fail at everything – to get me out of such a negative train of thoughts, i like to watch a silly tv show or read through some new blog entries – just to make me smile and focus on more positive things. Or a toddler. Or a dog. If you can’t, watch a youtube video of a kitten. Or a toddler. Or a dog. They really make you happy! :] What are your favorite ways to relax? What do you do when you’re feeling stressed?

Top 5 TV shows

Tuesdays are for Top 5s! top 5 tv shows Today’s Top 5 is about my favorite TV shows. I don’t even own a TV, but over the years I found some shows that I love to watch. Most of these are sitcoms, because I prefer real movies for more serious topics. When I first discovered this British series, I was instantly hooked and watched the complete first two seasons within a day… it’s so funny! Roy and Moss are socially awkward guys who work in IT support. They get a new boss in the first episode – Jen, who doesn’t know anything about computers. The three of them are entertaining enough, but add great supporting roles, strange bosses and a vampire and you get my very favorite TV show. I highly recommend it! My favorite episode: 2.01 – The Work Outing This show revolves around five friends – Robin, Barney, Lily, Marshall and Ted, the main character. Ted tells his kids about the events that lead to him meeting their mother – and he likes to talk. A lot. So we’re in season 7 right now and still haven’t got a clue who the mother is. I love every single one of the main characters.. If Marshall actually existed, I would totally marry hin 😉 My favorite episode: 2.03 – Brunch Another geeky show, this time about 3 physicists, an engineer and… a girl! As usual, I love all of the characters, but especially the socially awkward genius Sheldon and Raj, who can’t talk when women are around. I know a lot of people who never pick up sarcasm, just like Sheldon, so these moments are especially funny for me. Sven and I were „Shamy“ to this year’s carnival 😀 Another British sitcom. This one is about Bernard Black, the grumpy, chain-smoking owner of Black Books [a bookstore], his neurotic friend Fran and his enthusiastic, clumsy assistant Manny. I think it’s hilarious to watch Bernard moan and mumble and to see Manny’s desperate attempts to please him… So sad that there are only 3 seasons. My favorite episode: Grapes of Wrath Yes, I do not only like to watch Germany’s [while wondering how Heidi Klum manages to be so annoying when speaking German, when she seems so nice on Project Runway…] and America’s Next Top Model – I’ve also watched Austria’s, Australia’s [the best!!!], Canada’s, New Zealand’s, Britain’s,… I don’t really know what it is that makes me like it, I don’t believe it has that much to do with the real modeling world, but it’s entertaining and there are some seriously beautiful women. It’s my guilty pleasure. Please don’t laugh at me 😉 What are your favorite shows/favorite episodes? Do you have guilty pleasures when it comes to tv shows?

Top 5 things I love about Autumn

Tuesdays are for Top 5s! top 5... autumn It’s getting colder and colder where I live, so this Top 5 is about the beautiful things autumn has to offer.

Okay, I love to wear scarves all year round. But when it gets colder, I can really benefit from my ever-growing collection and get out the big, warm ones.

I love to see the seasonal change in nature, all the red and yellow leaves are just so beautiful.

Hot chocolates, special coffee flavors, punch, tea,…

The colder months are the perfect time for soup. It’s my favorite comfort food and I plan to try out a lot of new recipes.

It’s so great to get cosy indoors, spend a lot of time wrapped up in blankets, light some candles, read books und cuddle up with the loved one. Listening to my favorite song for autumn.

What are your favorite things about autumn?
