Top 5 Outfits from 2011 & Fashion Resolutions for 2012

In Plus Size Outfits, uncategorized
am 03. Januar 2012
I saw a lot of similar posts on my favourite blogs – like Feathers and Freckles & Charming Pumpkin – and so I’ve decided to post my own.

Posting my outfits on my blog has certainly helped me to find out what I like to wear and how certain items look on me. I thought about what I’d like to change about my style & I’ve come up with some fashion resolutions for the new year. I love the idea of thrifting, I think that it’s fantastic to re-use things in general… I haven’t thrifted yet, but I plan to change that in 2012. I also want to sell some of my clothes that I don’t wear. I definitely wore a lot more colours last year than in the years before, but there’s still room for a lot more colourful items in my wardrobe. In the past, I’ve mostly worn flat shoes – for wrong reasons. I love the look and feel of heels, but I was always convinced that I was tall enough without them. Now I’ve decided to embrace my height and dare to be seen even more. In my group of friends or in my family, I’m often the on the dressier side. I think that’s just my style… and I don’t want to dress down just to blend in. That’s actually on of my food/health-related resolutions – but if you’d ask some of my coffee-stained clothes, they would totally agree that it’s a good idea! 🙂
Do you have any new year’s resolutions? Maybe even fashion-related ones? Tell me! Habt ihr gute Vorsätze? Vielleicht sogar auf Mode bezogen? Erzählt’s mir!

Top 5 Snow Photographs

In uncategorized
am 20. Dezember 2011
Liebste schnee-bedeckte Grüße,
Tuesdays are for Top 5s! I woke up this morning, jumped out of bed, looked out of the window and saw – SNOW! Finally! I’ve been waiting for the first snow this winter for several weeks now and I’m so happy that it’s here. I know, I know… snow has its bad sides, especially when it’s melting. But this first day of snow each winter is pure magic. Everything and everyone moves a little slower and it gets so peacefully calm. To celebrate this first day of snow, I thought it would be fun to show you some of my favourite snow photographs I took in the last years. I hope you like it! Of course I had to include a picture of myself! This one here holds the record for my most-liked facebook profile picture. What else could a photograph possibly want?
Yours, snow-covered

Top 10 fun facts about me & my first blog award!

In uncategorized
am 13. Dezember 2011

This Tuesday’s Top 5 proves once again that I’m not good at counting… so, a Top 10 it is.

Liebster Blog Award Lili / Relatable Style recently has awarded me with the „Liebster Blog Award“ [=dearest/favourite blog] and I’m more than happy because it’s my first award ever! Thank you so much Lili!

The rules are that I have to share 10 facts about me.. so here’s what I’ve come up with. I HATE chewing gum – actually, „hate“ seems too weak… I really detest it! I can’t even sit close to a person who’s just chewing some. The smell alone makes me gag. I don’t even want to think about it. Uagh! Another thing I dislike with a passion: The word „Schatz“. It’s like „darling“, but worse – everyone is everyone’s Schatz. So if you were to call „Schatz“ in the grocery store, 98% of the people there would turn their head. I think it’s so unimaginative: the first boyfriend is Schatz #1, then you go on and meet Schatz #2, #3, #4 and so on – uaagh! There’s only one nickname worse than Schatz: „Schaa-haaaaaaatz“. Double-uaaagh! Random list of people I once said „I’m going to marry him one day!“ about: ♥ Marshall Eriksen [Jason Segel’s character in How I Met Your Mother] ♥ Clueso [a German singer/rapper] ♥ Colin Firth [professional dreamboat] Sadly, none of them wanted to marry me. I don’t own a tv & don’t miss having one. Though I love to watch reality/casting shows sometimes. Okay, often. I like every show that ends with „Next Top Model“ [Australia’s is my favourite!]. Current obsession: „The Voice of Germany“, it’s actually good and everyone in the jury & even the moderator is so likable!
unrelated picture is unrelated.

I’m a really sore loser and very competitive. I’ve been known to just leave the room if I lose a game too often… It doesn’t stop at games, if my grade isn’t the best I’m not happy. Which leads me to my next point… I cry. A lot. I cry when music touches me, whenever there’s one sad moment in a movie, over photographs, out of anger, when I see elderly people holding hands – I can even cry because I cry too much… It’s quite embarassing! On the flip side: I somehow mastered the art of crying without destroying my eye-makeup in my year-long training 😀 I really love cats! My father wouldn’t let me have one when I was younger, and now I haven’t got enough time/space… but I can see myself becoming a very happy crazy cat lady somewhere in the future. People who „don’t really hear music“ seem very suspicious to me. As do people who say about themselves that they aren’t political. Like everyone working in my field [computers/IT], I dream about creating the next Google/Facebook and becoming rich and famous because of it. Speaking of dreams: I have the weirdest dreams and can often remember them when I wake up. A lot of them have horror-movie-like plots and make me wake up scared. Some of them are funny, and most of them simply crazy. Apart from the people I really know and love, bloggers and my professors play a lot of the leading roles. If you read through all of this, I hope that you still like me. I’m actually a nice person, promise! Now I have to pass on this award… I couldn’t decide on just one, so I’m giving it to three blogs I’m really loving right now: Charming Pumpkin, On Ironing and Irony & Fräulein Minis Gespür für Mode
Happy Tuesday to you all!

Top 5 things I love about Advent Season

Top 5 things I love about Advent Season%20-%20https://kathastrophal.de/top-5-advent-season"> Top 5 things I love about Advent Season">
Tuesdays are for Top 5s! There’s nothing better than a visit of a christmas market to get me in christmas mood. I love all the lights, the wonderful decorations, mulled wine, roasted almonds and all the other great food – it’s just magical to be there and I’m so happy that I’ve got a group of friends who love them as much as I do. If I have a good idea for a present for a loved one, I love everything about it: Buying the present, wrapping it and the look on the face of the ones I give it to when they unwrap it. It’s even better than getting a present. Not to say that I don’t like to get presents! 😉 When it first starts to snow, I feel like a little child again. I love how different everything looks and how silent the world gets – pure magic! It’s so much joy to bake with some loved ones. I have some recipes piled up that I need to try and I’m going to take the time for it very soon. I can’t wait! … because giving / getting 24 little presents is even better than a single big one! It’s so much fun to open another one every day – I’m so looking forward to starting on Thursday :]
Do you love advent season? What are your favourite things about it?
