Highlights of my birthday week: ♥ My birthday! [Totally non-obvious, huh?] After all these years, it still gets me so excited. ♥ I signed the contract for my internship on my birthday, too! :] ♥ A lot of my friends and relatives called or sent me messages and I felt so loved. ♥ We had a lovely little celebration with a barbecue, my favourite pasta salad, pizza rolls and muffins… and I plan another celebration in July with a brunch, because breakfast is the best. ♥ I told my friends not to give me any presents until the second celebration, but I still got some really nice things: nail polish, photographs, and „How I Met Your Mother“ on dvd. ♥ Sven gave me the cutest present – a trip to the North Sea and a handbag. He really read my wishlist and even used the numbers to describe my presents in his letter. Awww! ♥ Besonders schöne Bestandteile meiner Geburtstagswoche: ♥ Mein Geburtstag! [Wie überraschend, hm?] Auch nach all den Jahren freue ich mich immer noch so sehr darauf. ♥ Ich hatte noch mehr Grund zur Freude, denn an dem Tag durfte ich auch den Arbeitsvertrag für mein Praktikum unterschreiben! :] ♥ Die Anrufe und Nachrichten von meinen Freunden und Verwandten haben dafür gesorgt, dass ich mich sehr geliebt gefühlt habe. ♥ Wir haben ein wenig gefeiert mit Grillen, meinem Lieblings-Nudelsalat, Pizzaschnecken und Muffins nach diesem Rezept… und im Juli habe ich noch eine zweite Feier mit einem Brunch, weil brunchen einfach das Beste ist! ♥ Ich habe meinen Freunden zwar gesagt, dass sie mir erst bei der zweiten Feier etwas schenken sollen, aber natürlich haben sie trotzdem etwas für mich gehabt: Nagellack, Fotos und „How I Met Your Mother“ auf Dvd. ♥ Von Sven habe ich das allerschönste Geschenk bekommen – eine Reise an die Nordsee und eine Handtasche. Er hat meine Wunschliste wirklich genau gelesen und in seinem Brief sogar die Nummern daraus benutzt, um die Geschenke zu beschreiben. There isn’t much talk in blog-land about being a non-believer. There’s a lot of religious talk, a lot of „I believe,“ and many beautiful sentiments about life and thoughts and talk of whatever god people want to put their faith into.

To be quite honest with you, I haven’t been feeling happy at all times this week. A mix of end-of-semester-panic, project due dates that are creepily close and lots of grey days left me wallowing in a big puddle of self-pity and feeling way to „blaaah“ to pose for outfit pictures… Sorry! But let’s stop it with the first-world problems and focus on the beautiful side of life, shall we? ♥ Sven who surprised me with a lot of lovely things this week – like a flower. My „subtle“ hints of telling him that I really love men who gift their better half flowers are finally paying off after all these months, yay! In all seriousness though: it was super-cute and I didn’t expect it. ♥ And speaking of Sven: When you’re not interested in soccer and it’s the Euro Cup, a boyfriend who’s not into soccer at all is worth his weight in gold and then some. ♥ Great food that deserves exclamation marks!!! Mmmh. ♥ A really fun evening of watching the „Germany’s Next Top Model“ finale with a group of friends. Luisa, my favourite, won! I think it proves that you really don’t have to have a loud personality to be successful. By the way, I think this was the most amazing photoshoot of the season. ♥ My readers! I hit 100 followers on bloglovin this week… wow! It’s so hard to grasp that so many of you like to read this little blog of mine & I’m still so excited whenever I get a new comment notification. Thank you so much for making this whole blogging experience so amazing, I’m SO glad that you’re here! Um ganz ehrlich zu sein, war ich diese Woche gar nicht die ganze Zeit so glücklich. Die Mischung aus Semester-End-Panik, Projektabgaben die sich unaufhaltsam nähern und vielen grauen Tagen haben mich in einer Welle der Larmoyanz [ach, ich liebe dieses Wort!] schwimmen lassen… so hab ich mich auch viel zu „blaaah“ gefühlt, um mir auch nur Gedanken über Outfitfotos zu machen – tut mir Leid! Aber genug von den Luxusproblemen, konzentrieren wir uns lieber mal auf die schönen Dinge des Lebens, ja? ♥ Sven, der mich mit einigen süßen Dingen überrascht hat – unter anderem hat er mir eine Blume mitgebracht. Meine unheimlich subtilen Hinweise, dass ich sowas ja ganz schön romantisch und ziemlich toll finde, scheinen nach all der Zeit zu fruchten! Aber ganz im Ernst: Ich fand es soo süß und hab gar nicht damit gerechnet. ♥ Und wenn wir schon bei Sven sind: Wenn man sich so gar nicht für Fußball interessiert, ist so ein Freund, den das ebenfalls komplett kalt lässt, während der EM einfach Gold wert. ♥ Leckeres Essen, das ganz viele Ausrufezeichen verdient hat!!! Mmmh. ♥ Ein lustiger Abend mit Freunden und dem „Germany’s Next Top Model“-Finale. Ich bin so froh dass Luisa gewonnen hat, ich finde sie toll und einfach nur wunderschön. Auch toll, dass nicht immer die mit der lautesten Persönlichkeit gewinnen. Überhaupt waren dieses Jahr einige tolle Mädchen dabei – und dieser Photoshoot war soo gut. ♥ Meine Leser! Ich hab diese Woche 100 Follower bei Bloglovin erreicht… wow! Kaum zu glauben, dass so viele von euch meinen kleinen Blog lesen. Ich bin nach wie vor jedes Mal so aufgeregt und glücklich, wenn eine Kommentarbenachrichtigung reinkommt. Na gut, zugegeben, ich liebe all ihre Posts – aber bei den schönen Selbermach-Ideen juckt es mich einfach in den Fingern und ich möchte auch etwas basteln! Diese Woche hat sie 5 Arten, Washi Tape / Masking Tape einzusetzen, präsentiert… und nun dürft ihr raten wer gerne ganz viele solcher Rollen hätte. Ich finde ihren Artikel „Verkauf dich, Baby!“ und die zugehörigen Kommentare sehr interessant und wir sind in vielen Dingen einer Meinung. Was denkt ihr denn zu dem Ganzen? [himbeermarmelade] In dem Zusammenhang würde mich auch sehr interessieren, wie ihr zu dem Thema Affiliate Links steht. Fändet ihr es doof, wenn ich ein bisschen was verdiene, weil ihr etwas kauft das ihr auf meinem Blog entdeckt habt? Ich kenne einige Blogs, die diese Art Links verwenden, und mich stört es nicht – ist doch eigentlich sogar ganz cool, dass man nicht nur die großen Marken, sondern auch die kleinen Blogger mit den eigenen Online-Käufen unterstützen kann. Ich würde das gerne mal ausprobieren… auch wenn ich bezweifle, dass ich damit reich werde 😉 Ich bin gespannt auf eure Meinung dazu und Erfahrungen damit!
