Weekend recap – 44

On Thursday, some of my friends and I went to the big semester opening party – it was just awesome. We met at my house to „Vorglühen“ – sorry English-speaking friends, this word is just too cute, so I have to teach you a little German here. The literal translation would be preheating or rather preglowing, but I don’t think you use it that way. It means that we had a few drinks and a lot of laughs before actually going to the party which is usually the most fun part. The party was a lot of fun, too, we spend most of the time on the 90ies/trash – floor. I just love dancing and singing along to the Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys & co! Since we had to go to university on friday and therefore didn’t get much sleep that night, the rest of the weekend was rather quiet and relaxing. Sven and I both won tickets to Bambi [a German television award show] next thursday which requires evening dress, so we had to go dress-shopping for me. I managed to find a dress, but I had to search for a long time… most dresses in the stores weren’t my size, my style and/or within my price range. We had to do some homework, cooked great meals, played what feels like 10 hours Early Bird and had a lot of laughing fits. We’re just so funny, can’t help that… for example, Sven fell into my bathtub while brushing his teeth [which obviously wasn’t my fault at all!] and I composed a song about a street between our houses [which obviously is the best song ever!]. more fruit! sunset That’s the view from my room. Also, I created an Instagram account – another reason to steal Sven’s Iphone 😀 I’m kathastrophal and I’d love to follow you!

In English, it seems like people always call it „pre-gaming“ when you go to someone’s house to drink and hang out before going to a party or a bar. Vorglühen sounds classier, though.

    Thanks for the link!
